Documentation is done with you, the sports gambler in mind. Every play is documented and records are kept and searchable for as long as a Professional Handicappers wishes to be fully documented.
We document free and premium plays alike, not just selected plays that may skew a record. Here is how our documentation sets us apart from the others.
First, we grade on actual sportsbook lines. We do not grade a 5 star play any different than a 1 star play or how a handicapper chooses to label it. We base all plays on a "bet 110 to win 100" basis. For example, if a Handicapper selects the Detroit Pistons at -8/-103 over the Raptors, and the Pistons cover, the he is creditied with a win and +100 units. If the Pistons had failed to cover, he would be graded for a loss and -103 units.

Let's take a look at a couple more examples. The First example showed a point spread bet on the favorite. Now lets assume The handicapper had played on Toronto at +6/+106. If Toronto wins ATS the the handicapper would be graded on a win and +106 units. If Toronto had lost ATS, then the handicapper would be graded with a loss and -100 units, as if he had bet $100.00 on Toronto.
The same grading system would apply to "Totals" bets. i.e. The total for the game is 189/-105 for the over and 189/+101 for the UNDER. If he played the OVER and wins, he is credited with +100 units, and if he loses, he is graded for the loss and -105 units. In the case of the UNDER bet, a win would give him 101 units and a loss -100 units.
In the case of Moneyline Bets since we are dealing with just a SU win or loss the grading would work as follows. Our handicapper likes the Tampa Bay Devil Rays over the Kansas City Royals at 0/-144. If Tampa Bay wins he is graded with the win and +100 units. If Tampa bay loses, he is graded with this loss and -144 units. In this same game the moneyline on the Kansas City Royals is 0/142. In this case a win would give him +142 units and a loss -100 units.
Runlines in MLB Baseball and Pucklines in NHL Hockey etc. work exactly like the pointspreads as shown in the example using the NBA basketball game above.
Props and other Bets and handled in the very same manner as they are handled in the sportsbooks. If a handicapper releases a parlay bet and nothing is specified in the writeup, then we grade on the 100 base unit system. A handicapper may put 2 or more teams together for a bet of 100 to win 300 for example. If the parlay wins, he is credited with +300 units, and if it Losses, he is graded for a loss at -100 units. A Parlay of say, 2 huge favorites may be at -125. A win will give him +100 units and a loss -125 units.
Multiple bets in one package, say for example a bet on a NASCAR race, may contain not only the top 3 picks to win but also a couple of head to head matchups. In this case, we will grade on how the bet was explained and set up, so a Handicapper may place 1/3 unit on 3 drivers to win. If one comes in it is rated at 1/3 the win amount and the two drivers who did not win at 1/3 the loss amounts. and evaluate each matchup individually, and then tally the winnning and losing plays to give us the final grading. Again, this package would be graded exactly as your sportsbook would grade it.
Why do we grade our plays this way?
Why do we not use the handicappers rating system?
The answer is simple. Let's say your a dime player and the capper releases a 10 star play. We would never assume you would bet $10 000.00 on a single game, so grade all plays on the base unit. If the play wins an you did bet 10K, then excellent, you made some bucks and will likely be back to buy more winning plays from that handicapper, but we grade all our packages on the base 100 system. This grading system matches how the sportsbooks grade and is the most accurate and real world way to grade. We use 100 as the base as this is the most common amount bet in sportsbooks and how they present their odds, lines and juice. This is not a Fantasy League. This is real, with bets made using real money. The only question we have is, if your using a handicapper who touts his records and uses a star or other rating system, ask him to explain how to bet a 25 000 star play and also ask to see his betting slip showing his quarter million dollar bet on the line, then come on over to the real world and join the Professionals here at ProCappers.com
