After a thrilling Divisional Playoff round, its time for the AFC and NFC Championship games. With only four teams left, right now is a great time to place a futures bet on the winner of Super Bowl XLIV.

The NFL playoffs have been full of offensive explosions and dominating performances. Of the eight playoffs games played, only the Arizona Cardinals 51-45 victory over the Packers and the Jets 17-14 upset of the Chargers have been compelling games. Let’s hope the high-powered offenses of the Vikings and Saints light it up in the NFC championship game and the scrappy underdog Jets can make a game of it against the Indianapolis Colts.

Indianapolis Colts 6/5

The Indianapolis Colts remains huge favorites to win the Super Bowl after their workmanlike performance against the Baltimore Ravens. The NFL football odds makers have the Colts listed as 7½-point favorites versus the New York Jets. A wager on any team right now is essentially a two-team parlay. With the Colts moneyline for the AFC final set at -350 and considering a 2-team parlay pays out at 2.6/1, we can calculate that if the Colts make the Super Bowl they will be -140 favorites to win regardless of their NFC opponent.

New Orleans Saints 2/1

The New Orleans Saints are 2/1 favorites to win the Super Bowl after their destruction of the Arizona Cardinals. The Saints-Vikings opening line favors the Saints by 4½ points. It will be interesting to see if the Saints can handle the Vikings pass rush as Drew Brees has only been sacked 20 times all season. If they can beat the Vikings, this will be the Saints first trip to the Super Bowl.

Minnesota Vikings 9/2

Brett Favre still has some magic; he became the oldest quarterback to win an NFL Playoff game. The opening over/under for the Saints-Vikings is set at 52½ points. It’s another over/under that appears too high but considering the firepower that both teams have, this game could turn into a shootout. At 9/2 and with Brett Favre under center, the Minnesota Vikings offer the best value to win Super Bowl XLIV.

New York Jets 8/1

Well look who showed up at the party, the New York Jets are the only Wildcard team to make it to the Championship round after their defeat of the San Diego Chargers. They Jets will be in tough against the Colts and if they somehow manage to survive, they will be huge underdogs against the Saints or Vikings. Considering only five Wildcard teams have won the Super Bowl, their 8/1 odds are about right. Don’t discount the Jets right away, as they have already knocked off two division winners but they would have to beat two more to claim Super Bowl XLIV.
