The boys in the Big XII are all off to great starts in 2009-10, and college basketball gambling fanatics are having a field day with them. Check out how we rank the teams in this conference against the college basketball spreads...
1: Baylor Bears (6-1 ATS, 13-1 SU) (LW: 3) That's the way to boomer the Sooners! Baylor bashed OU 91-60 at home on Saturday, and for their efforts, the Bears may finally gain some national respect now that they're 13-1. On top of that, you have to go back to November 26th to find the last time (and only time this year) that they failed to beat a college basketball spread.
On Deck: Away @ Colorado, Home vs. Oklahoma State
2: Oklahoma State Cowboys (6-2-1 ATS, 13-2 SU) (LW: 5) The big shakeup in the Big XII power rankings continued when the Pokes blew out Texas Tech. Three of the next four are away from Stillwater, though.
On Deck: Away @ Oklahoma, Away @ Baylor
3: Kansas State Wildcats (7-3 ATS, 13-2 SU) (LW: 2) Mizzou handed the Wildcats just their second loss of the season on Saturday. They need to rebound in a hurry, as Texas is waiting in the wings a week from Monday.
On Deck: Home vs. Texas A&M, Away @ Colorado
4: Texas Longhorns (7-4 ATS, 15-0 SU) (LW: 1) The college basketball gambling lines have finally caught up with Texas. Though the Horns posted convincing victories against both Arkansas and Colorado, neither game was enough to beat the number. Hopefully for Texas' betting fans, that will change this week.
On Deck: Away @ Iowa State, Home vs. Texas A&M
5: Texas Tech Red Raiders (6-3 ATS, 12-3 SU) (LW: 4) As the Big XII becomes a tighter conference, the Red Raiders need to keep the pedal to the metal and pick up some more SU victories. All of a sudden, what was once 12-2 could easily become 12-5 this week.
On Deck: Home vs. Missouri, Away @ Kansas
6: Texas A&M Aggies (6-3 ATS, 12-3 SU) (LW: 6) The Aggies did their job to start Big XII play last week when they took out the Huskers. They'll need a couple big upsets still to improve their resume for the NCAA Tournament, and they'll have two chances to pull off a shocker this week.
On Deck: Away @ Kansas State, Away @ Texas
7: Missouri Tigers (6-4 ATS, 13-3 SU) (LW: 9) After a non-conference season without many alarming victories, the Tigers certainly added a nice feather to their cap on Saturday with a win over a Top-10 team. The road is going to be a difficult place for Mizzou this year though, as it is has already started 0-2 SU and 0-1 ATS away from Columbia in '09-'10.
On Deck: Away @ Texas Tech, Away @ Oklahoma
8: Kansas Jayhawks (6-6 ATS, 14-1 SU) (LW: 7) #1 is undefeated no longer. The Jayhawks will inevitably slip to at least #3 in the country after losing at Tennessee on Sunday afternoon. Still, HC Bill Self's team is going to be around deep into March Madness this year and cannot be overlooked.
On Deck: Away @ Nebraska, Home vs. Texas Tech
And the rest...
9: Iowa State Cyclones (6-6 ATS, 11-4 SU) (LW: 8)
10: Nebraska Cornhuskers (3-5 ATS, 12-4 SU) (LW: 10)
11: Colorado Buffaloes (4-7 ATS, 9-6 SU) (LW: 11)
12: Oklahoma Sooners (4-8 ATS, 9-6 SU) (LW: 12)
