The biggest college basketball betting programs on the West Coast are still struggling in 2009-10. Take a look at how BetUS.com ranks the teams after a few weeks of competition against the NCAA basketball spreads.
1: Oregon State Beavers (8-2 ATS, 7-8 SU) (LW: 1) So let's get this one straight. Oregon State gets thumped 99-48 by Seattle, and then turns around and beats Oregon in Eugene? It's amazing to believe how anyone is beating the NCAA basketball spreads in this conference sometimes.
On Deck: Home vs. Arizona, Home vs. Arizona State
2: USC Trojans (7-6-2 ATS, 10-6 SU) (LW: 5) USC lost both of its games in No Cal this week, but at least it covered both college basketball betting lines. That's not going to get the Trojans anywhere near the Field of 65 though.
On Deck: Away @ UCLA
3: California Golden Bears (7-7 ATS, 10-5 SU) (LW: 2) Just when you thought it was safe for Cal to come out of the closet, the Bears turn around and only split a two-game home set with USC and UCLA in spite of the fact that they were double digit favorites against the NCAA basketball point spread in both games.
On Deck: Away @ Washington State, Away @ Washington
4: Arizona Wildcats (7-7-1 ATS, 8-8 SU) (LW: 3) Splitting at home against Washington and Washington State isn't the worst thing in the world for Arizona. The Cats head up to Oregon this week to clash with the Beavers and Ducks.
On Deck: Away @ Oregon State, Away @ Oregon
5: UCLA Bruins (6-7 ATS, 7-9 SU) (LW: 6) UCLA found a way to take care of Cal on the road in what probably amounts to its biggest victory of the season. The Bruins really still don't have a chance of reaching the tourney barring a run all the way to the Pac-10 title, but winning these regular season battles will at least set up that potential.
On Deck: Home vs. USC
6: Oregon Ducks (5-7 ATS, 10-5 SU) (LW: 4) Losing to a team that just got spanked by Seattle isn't going to help Oregon's chances of reaching the Field of 65 this year. Getting to 20 wins is going to be virtually impossible with efforts like that.
On Deck: Home vs. Arizona State, Home vs. Arizona
7: Washington State Cougars (6-8 ATS, 12-4 SU) (LW: 7) For as respectable as a 78-76 win at Arizona was, losing 71-46 at Arizona State was god awful for a Wazzou team hoping to crack the NCAA Tournament. Games at home are simply musts for this team, and the Bears and Cardinal should be two pushovers if it hopes to go dancing.
On Deck: Home vs. California, Home vs. Stanford
8: Arizona State Sun Devils (5-8 ATS, 12-5 SU) (LW: 9) Someone has to have a good week in this conference, and this week it was Arizona State doing the deed. The Sun Devils thumped both Washington schools, but the road has already been unkind to this team this year (0-3 ATS), so the trips to the Ducks and Beavers won't be easy.
On Deck: Away @ Oregon, Away @ Oregon State
And the rest...
9: Stanford Cardinal (4-8-1 ATS, 8-7 SU) (LW: 8)
10: Washington Huskies (2-11 ATS, 10-5 SU) (LW: 10)
