The SEC has been full of surprises both positively and negatively this season. Check out how we rank the top teams in the southeast against the college basketball betting lines with this week's college basketball power rankings...
1: Mississippi State Bulldogs (8-3 ATS, 13-3 SU) (LW: 1) MSU's loss at Western Kentucky was a bad one for the conference as a whole. It was the second time that a Sun Belt team beat an elite SEC team this season. A nice 80-75 college basketball betting victory in Oxford helped ease the pain.
On Deck: Home vs. Arkansas, Home vs. Georgia
2: Mississippi Rebels (7-4 ATS, 12-3 SU) (LW: 2) The Rebels pounded UCF into submission midweek, but they couldn't follow that up with a 'W' against their rivals in the Egg Bowl. Four of the next five are on the road, where they are a perfect 2-0 ATS on the season.
On Deck: Away @ Georgia, Away @ Tennessee
3: Tennessee Volunteers (6-4-1 ATS, 12-2 SU) (LW: 5) No one's doubting how good this Tennessee team is anymore after taking care of the #1 team in the land on Sunday. Tennessee won't want a letdown this week with two very winnable games on Rocky Top.
On Deck: Home vs. Auburn, Home vs. Mississippi
4: Vanderbilt Commodores (7-5 ATS, 12-3 SU) (LW: 6) The big movers in the college basketball power rankings in the SEC this week were the Commodores, who hop up three spots after two convincing home victories. It's going to take some wins outside of Nashville to get Vandy to the tourney this year though, and four of the next five are on the road.
On Deck: Away @ Alabama, Away @ South Carolina
5: Alabama Crimson Tide (6-5 ATS, 11-4 SU) (LW: 8) What a week for the Alabama faithful! Not only did the Tide roll to the National Championship on the gridiron, but they also picked up two convincing road victories on the hardwood to boot.
On Deck: Home vs. Vanderbilt, Away @ Arkansas
6: Kentucky Wildcats (7-7 ATS, 16-0 SU) (LW: 3) The Cats moved to a sweet 16-0 on the season after taking care of the Bulldogs on Saturday. This may be the last chance for UK to be beaten in about a month.
On Deck: Away @ Florida, Away @ Auburn
7: South Carolina Gamecocks (6-6 ATS, 10-5 SU) (LW: 7) Road victories in the SEC are always huge, so South Carolina's 80-71 win at Auburn was very welcome to a team that had lost three of its previous four coming into this week. It's just as important to hold serve at home though, and that's what SC must do twice this week to get to 12-5.
On Deck: Home vs. LSU, Home vs. Vanderbilt
8: Florida Gators (5-5 ATS, 11-4 SU) (LW: 4) Every time the Gators take a step forward, they seem to take a couple in the wrong direction as well. After getting a miracle victory against NC State to close out two weeks ago, they blew it by getting creamed at Vandy on Saturday. With Kentucky coming to town, Florida very well could drop to 11-5 and firmly on the NCAA Basketball Tournament bubble.
On Deck: Home vs. Kentucky, Home vs. LSU
And the rest...
9: Arkansas Razorbacks (3-4 ATS, 7-8 SU) (LW: 9)
10: Georgia Bulldogs (6-7 ATS, 8-6 SU) (LW: 10)
11: Auburn Tigers (3-7 ATS, 9-7 SU) (LW: 11)
12: LSU Tigers (3-8 ATS, 9-7 SU) (LW: 12)
