The first round of the playoffs is now in the books, and BetUS Sportsbook takes a look at how the eight teams left standing stack up against each other in this week's NFL power rankings...
1: Indianapolis Colts (10-5-1 ATS, 14-2 SU) The Colts elected to rest their players in their last two games of the season. Will it backfire when Baltimore brings its high-octane defense and potent rushing attack to the Drum this weekend? Not if MVP QB Peyton Manning has anything to say about it.
Up Next: Home vs. Ravens (-6.5)
2: New York Jets (10-7 ATS, 10-7 SU) If the Jets can pull this one off, they deserve to move to the top spot in the NFL power rankings. Maybe HC Rex Ryan knew what he was talking about when he said that the Jets should be the favorites to win the whole enchilada. If his quarterback, Mark Sanchez, can keep his head on straight in the face of the San Diego pressure, another upset may be in the cards.
Up Next: Away @ Chargers (+7.5)
3: Minnesota Vikings (9-6-1 ATS, 12-4 SU) QB Brett Favre has to be breathing at least a bit of a sigh of relief, knowing that the Packers aren't going to be coming to town to face him at any point during these playoffs. Instead, he's going to have to deal with one of the hottest teams in the NFL.
Up Next: Home vs. Cowboys (-2.5)
4: Dallas Cowboys (10-7 ATS, 12-5 SU) If one's a fluke and two's a trend, what does four straight fantastic games equal for the Cowboys? With three more fantastic games, it'll equal a championship.
Up Next: Away @ Vikings (+2.5)
5: Arizona Cardinals (10-7 ATS, 11-5 SU) Give Arizona all the credit in the world for hanging in there in the face of the pressure of the Green Bay comeback to preserve a 51-45 wild OT victory over Wild Card weekend. The Cards were the forgotten team last year, but if they can win in the Bayou this Saturday, nobody will be questioning them anymore.
Up Next: Away @ Saints (+7)
6: Baltimore Ravens (9-7-1 ATS, 10-7 SU) LB Ray Lewis summed it up the best on the sidelines in Oakland in Baltimore's regular season finale. "All we've gotta do is get in the show." For the second straight year, the Ravens have come out of the #6 seed in the AFC to advance to the Divisional Round of the playoffs. It's going to take a huge effort, but it's very believable that they can go to their second straight AFC Championship Game as well.
Up Next: Away @ Colts (+6.5)
7: San Diego Chargers (8-7-1 ATS, 13-3 SU) It's hard to argue with a team that has won 11 straight games. QB Philip Rivers and one of the AFC's most potent offenses will try to get rid of the pesky Jets once and for all this weekend at home.
Up Next: Home vs. Jets (-7.5)
8: New Orleas Saints (7-9 ATS, 13-3 SU) It's still hard to believe that the Saints marched into the playoffs at the bottom of the NFL power rankings after starting off the year 6-0 ATS. Should that throw up a big red stop sign for bettors this weekend?
Up Next: Home vs. Cardinals (-7)
