Conference play is just starting to get heated up in the college basketball betting world, and as 2010 continues, five questions that should be asked in the week ahead.

1: Will the undefeated teams in the land all stay that way? This seems like the same question that we asked forever about the Colts and Saints in the NFL. However, this seems to be the week that at least one of the Jayhawks, Wildcats, Longhorns, or Boilermakers loses a game. Save for Kentucky, the other three teams are facing very dangerous road tests. College basketball betting fans will love to sink their teeth into games between Kansas and Tennessee, Texas and Arkansas, and Purdue and Arkansas. It's hard to see how all of these teams will be beaten, but don't be surprised if at least one, if not more of them are bounced from the rank of the unbeatens by the time the weekend is over.

2: Can the Lobos take their show away from the Pit and post more victories in the tough MWC? We already know that New Mexico is going to cripple a lot of teams at the Pit this year. Just ask Cal and Texas Tech how easy it is to visit the Lobos. However, NM has already lost to Oral Roberts on the road and narrowly escaped a defeat at San Diego on the season. The Lobos failed to cover their L/5 Mountain West games in the '08-'09 campaign, and they may struggle again when they visit the Aztecs on Tuesday night.

3: How far will the Buckeyes slide without F Evan Turner? Ohio State's superstar couldn't possibly come back sooner for HC Thad Motta. The Big Ten season started with bad losses at Wisconsin and Michigan for the Bucks, which stretched their ATS losing skid to six games. Turner was responsible for 18.5 points per game. Now, OSU is playing some ugly offense and really could be in a lot of trouble this week; especially traveling to Minnesota.

4: The Dookies have dominated at Cameron Indoor, but they lost their only real road game of the year at Wisconsin. Is that a sign of things to come? There's no denying the fact that playing at Cameron Indoor Stadium is one of the best home advantages in all of sports, not just in college basketball. But the Dookies lost at Wisconsin 73-69 back on November 2nd and haven't played a legit road game since. Now, they have to travel to Ames and Atlanta in a span of just three nights. There could be a trip up here in the cards for Coach K's club.

5: Are weak schedules in the ACC about to get exposed? One look at the ACC standings will show North Carolina as a middle of the pack team at 11-3. However, seeing Virginia Tech at 12-1 and Miami at 14-1 just doesn't seem justifiable. Are these teams that good, or were their schedules that weak? The Canes will get to try their hand against Wake Forest at home over the weekend, but the far more interesting game will be V-Tech going to Tobacco Road to cope with said Tar Heels. The Hokies may have a dozen wins, but they don't have any bulk on their schedules, and a lack of wins like this one have kept them out of the dance in recent years and may ultimately do so again if they can't capture a few of them.
