1: Villanova Wildcats (9-3 ATS, 12-1 SU) (LW: 2) The Cats scratched their way to a two-point victory at Marquette to kick off conference play the right way. With three of the next four coming at home, Nova could get on a real tear here very quickly.

2: South Florida Bulls (8-4 ATS, 10-3 SU) (LW: 1) The Bulls may not be able to run with the rest of the big boys in the Big East, but they're still near the top of the college basketball power rankings in the best conference in America in spite of a bad loss to Louisville last week.

On Deck: Home vs. Notre Dame

3: Syracuse Orange (7-3 ATS, 13-1 SU) (LW: 2) The Orange were knocked from the ranks of the unbeatens in the college basketball betting world on Saturday when they were shocked at home by Pittsburgh. Look for the Tigers and Bulls to feel the wrath of Syracuse this week.

On Deck: Home vs. Memphis, Home vs. South Florida

4: Georgetown Hoyas (5-3 ATS, 11-1 SU) (LW: 5) The Hoyas picked up a pair of wins to start Big East play off on the right foot. A big showdown with the Huskies will highlight a big week of clashes in this conference.

On Deck: Away @ Marquette, Home vs. Connecticut

5: DePaul Blue Demons (5-4-1 ATS, 7-7 SU) (LW: 4) DePaul has lost three straight games and doesn't look to have the ability to pick up a 'W' any time in the near future. The good news is that a trip to Nova is the last game for a week to give the Demons a chance to regroup.

On Deck: Away @ Villanova

6: St. John's Red Storm (6-5 ATS, 10-4 SU) (LW: 6) The Johnnies looked good for a half of basketball on Sunday against Providence, but really gave it up in a bad second half. The Red Storm are going to need to get themselves in order to win some Big East games.

On Deck: Away @ Louisville


7: Notre Dame Fighting Irish (5-4 ATS, 12-3 SU) (LW: 7) This is just starting to feel like another one of those years where Notre Dame goes 7-9 or 8-8 in conference and ultimately gets left out of the tournament in spite of the fact that it is going to win 20 games. A slip up against South Florida can't happen, and a win against one of these big boys like WVU is going to be a must eventually.

On Deck: Away @ South Florida, Home vs. West Virginia

8: Rutgers Scarlet Knights (5-4 ATS, 9-4 SU) (LW: 8) Rut-roh Rutgers. Big East play started on a down note with a 65-58 loss at home against the Bearcats. Things can't possibly get any better in these next three games.

On Deck: Away @ West Virginia, Away @ Providence
