The Big East plugged along last week with another week of ups and downs in football betting. Find out how the teams stack up against each other in this week's college football power rankings from BetUS...
1: Connecticut Huskies (7-0 ATS, 4-3 SU) (LW: 1) It's never easy to mourn the death of a teammate and to come out and play that Saturday, but that's what the Huskies did this week in Morgantown. They were defeated 28-24, but they put forth a great effort and earned their seventh straight cover of the season. Will anyone be able to stop this cover machine?
Up Next: Home vs. Rutgers (-7.5)
2: Cincinnati Bearcats (5-2 ATS, 7-0 SU) (LW: 2) The Bearcats continue to impress! Even without the services of QB Tony Pike, they crippled Louisville on Saturday afternoon and still look like a team that is a serious National Championship contender. The trip to the Carrier Dome could be a bit of a difficult one, especially if Cincy is looking ahead to games against Connecticut and West Virginia down the road.
Up Next: Away @ Syracuse (-14.5)
3: Pittsburgh Panthers (5-2 ATS, 7-1 SU) (LW: 3) The Big East should be on notice; the Panthers are legit! They did something this week that no one else has been able to figure out how to do since QB Matt Grothe got injured: Figure out how to stop BJ Daniels. U-Pitt is off next week, before playing host to the Orange before three very difficult games to end the season.
Up Next: Bye
4: Syracuse Orange (4-3 ATS, 3-4 SU) (LW: 5) HC Doug Marrone finally figured out how to use QB Greg Paulus effectively. He let his point guard/quarterback hand the ball off to his stud running back 30 times. RB Delone Carter ran for 170 yards and three scores in the victory. The final game of a ridiculous six-game home stand is this week when the Bearcats come to town.
Up Next: Home vs. Cincinnati (+14.5)
5: South Florida Bulls (3-3 ATS, 5-2 SU) (LW: 4) All of a sudden, the Bulls look like a team that may not even qualify for a bowl game. They were blown away in Pittsburgh last weekend, and now have to deal with West Virginia. QB BJ Daniels hasn't completed more than 50% of his passes in three of his L/4 starts.
Up Next: Home vs. West Virginia (+3.5)
6: Rutgers Scarlet Knights (3-4 ATS, 5-2 SU) (LW: 8) Rutgers is back on the winning path after beating Army in West Point 27-10 on Friday night. Still, the Scarlet Knights haven't proven that they can beat any squad deemed as high caliber, so they're a real question mark for football bettors. On Halloween night, they'll figure out whether RU is a trick or a treat in Hartford.
Up Next: Away @ Connecticut (+7.5)
And the rest…
7: Louisville Cardinals (2-4 ATS, 2-5 SU) (LW: 6)
8: West Virginia Mountaineers (2-3 ATS, 5-1 SU) (LW: 7)
