The MAC has had a mixed bag of college football betting results so far in the 2009 season. Check out this week’s MAC power rankings brought to you by BetUS Sportsbook!
1: Central Michigan Chippewas (5-1 ATS, 6-1 SU) (LW: 1) The Chippewas have started to garner some Top-25 consideration from the pollsters, which is great news for a program that’s on the rise. They picked up their second straight cover by beating Western Michigan 34-23 in Kalamazoo last week. Give it up to Central Michigan, who scheduled seven road games this year. Those tough tests should grant a nice bowl bid in return.
Up Next: Away @ Bowling Green (-7)
2: Temple Owls (4-1 ATS, 4-2 SU) (LW: 3) Break up the Owls! They scored their fourth straight victory when they beat Army 27-13 on Saturday afternoon. A trip to the Glass Bowl this week is a big one, as all of a sudden, Temple went from that team that was embarrassed by Villanova to start the season to one that is thinking about winning the MAC.
Up Next: Away @ Toledo (+1.5)
3: Ohio Bobcats (5-2 ATS, 5-2 SU) (LW: 4) The Bobcats started the year with two straight duds, but since then, they've rolled off five straight covers. Even though they fell behind the Redhawks 7-0 early, they scored the final 28 points of the game to easily procure the cover. With a victory this week against the Golden Flashes, Ohio will be in prime position to capture the MAC East crown.
Up Next: Home vs. Kent State (-11)
4: Kent State Golden Flashes (4-2 ATS, 3-4 SU) (LW: 5) The E. Mich Eagles never really had a chance against Kent State on Saturday. Still the Golden Flashes have struggled mightily offensively this season, as demonstrated by the fact that they only average 312.7 yards per game (101st in the NCAA) and 20.9 points per game (103rd).
Up Next: Away @ Ohio (+11)
5: Northern Illinois Huskies (4-2 ATS, 3-3 SU) (LW: 2) Northern Illinois suffered a crippling 20-19 loss to Toledo last week that may ultimately knock it out of the MAC West race. The Huskies should get back into the win column this week against one of the two winless squads in the conference.
Up Next: Away @ Miami (OH) (-10)
6: Toledo Rockets (4-3 ATS, 4-3 SU) (LW: 6) A few weeks ago, Toledo would've probably circled last week's game against Northern Illinois as a loss. Of course, it probably would've tabbed Temple as a win as well. After bucking the trend last week and springing an outright upset as 7.5-point dogs, what do the Rockets have in store for the red hot Owls?
Up Next: Home vs. Temple (-1.5)
And the rest…
7: Akron Zips (3-3 ATS, 1-5 SU) (LW: 8)
8: Buffalo Bulls (3-4 ATS, 3-4 SU) (LW: 7)
9: Bowling Green Falcons (3-4 ATS, 3-4 SU) (LW: 9)
10: Eastern Michigan Eagles (3-4 ATS, 0-7 SU) (LW: 12)
11: Western Michigan Broncos (2-5 ATS, 3-4 SU) (LW: 10)
12: Miami Redhawks (2-5 ATS, 0-7 SU) (LW: 11)
