The MWC has struggled more for college football betting fanatics against the betting spreads than most conferences in America. Check out how they all stack up against each other coming into this week with BetUS' power poll...
1: Wyoming Cowboys (5-1 ATS, 4-3 SU) (LW: 1) No one will ask Wyoming bettors how the Cowboys figured out how to cover the spread against Air Force last week, just whether they did or not. In spite of the fact that the Pokes were shutout, they held the Falcons' attack to just ten points and preserved the cover against the 12-point spread. That's four straight covers for the boys from Laramie.
Up Next: Bye
2: BYU Cougars (4-3 ATS, 6-1 SU) (LW: 2) The Cougars can't like the fact that Boise State found a way to beat Tulsa last week. They struggled with San Diego State for far too long to be impressive in the eyes of the pollsters. The only hope for a BCS birth is a very convincing win over TCU this week in what may be one of the best matchups of the entire weekend.
Up Next: Home vs. TCU (+2.5)
3: TCU Horned Frogs (3-3 ATS, 6-0 SU) (LW: 4) Everyone is discussing whether or not an undefeated Boise State team will be good enough to play for the National Championship, but no one is discussing that with TCU. After another impressive victory against Colorado State last weekend, a big victory against BYU this weekend will probably propel the Horned Frogs into the top spot for mid-majors in the country.
Up Next: Away @ BYU (-2.5)
4: Colorado State Rams (2-4 ATS, 3-4 SU) (LW: 3) The Rams took an early lead against TCU in Fort Worth, but after going up 6-0, it was all over. The Horned Frogs were simply too powerful, and they easily handed CSU its fourth straight SU loss. In fairness to the Rams, those four losses were against BYU, Idaho, Utah, and TCU. Expect them to get back into the win column this week. If not, reaching a bowl game will be virtually impossible.
Up Next: Home vs. San Diego State (-8.5)
5: Air Force Falcons (2-4 ATS, 5-2 SU) (LW: 5) Something is wrong with Air Force's offense right now. Even though the Falcons won 10-0 over Wyoming last week, they stood no chance to cover the 12-point spread. It's the third straight game in which they failed to score more than 17 points, which is a very bad sign considering the fact that there are still a few very high-powered offensive clubs still yet to be played.
Up Next: Away @ Utah (+10)
6: Utah Utes (2-4 ATS, 5-1 SU) (LW: 7) Utah is that team in the MWC that everyone has seemingly forgotten about. It isn't all that unrealistic to think that the Utes can still slip into a BCS game, especially considering they'll have had to win at TCU and at BYU to run the table. After blowing out UNLV for an easy cover, if Utah finds a way to run the table from here, last year's Sugar Bowl champs deserve another shot at the big boys in the biggest bowl games.
Up Next: Home vs. Air Force (-10)
And the rest…
7: San Diego State Aztecs (2-4 ATS, 2-4 SU) (LW: 8)
8: UNLV Runnin’ Rebels (1-5 ATS, 2-5 SU) (LW: 6)
9: New Mexico Lobos (1-5 ATS, 0-6 SU) (LW: 9)
