The MAC has had a mixed bag of college football betting results so far in the 2009 season. Check out this week’s MAC power poll.
1: Central Michigan Chippewas (4-1 ATS, 5-1 SU) (LW: 3) The Chippewas moved back up to the top spot in the MAC Power Poll after dismantling Eastern Michigan 56-8 last week. Their other battle with a fellow Directional Michigan squad is on deck this week as QB Dan LeFevour tries to lead his squad to its sixth straight 'W'.
Up Next: Away @ Western Michigan (-6.5)
2: Northern Illinois Huskies (4-1 ATS, 3-2 SU) (LW: 2) With the way that Central Michigan is playing, the Huskies aren't going to have much in the way of wiggle room if they hope to be able to win the MAC. Though Toledo doesn't have a strong team this year, playing in the Glass Bowl is never fun.
Up Next: Away @ Toledo (OTB)
3: Temple Owls (3-1 ATS, 3-2 SU) (LW: 1) It's not too often that the Owls win a game that they don't cover the spread in. Alas, that's where they were last week when they beat Ball State 24-19. It wasn't a cover, but it was Temple's third straight win in conference. It might've lost to Villanova to start the season, but it may also be good enough to win a very poor MAC East.
Up Next: Home vs. Army (-9)
4: Ohio Bobcats (4-2 ATS, 4-2 SU) (LW: 5) The only other legitimate looking challenger so far this season for the MAC East crown is Ohio. The Bobcats went on the road and beat Akron 19-7 as short favorites. That's four straight covers for Ohio, who will welcome a winless bunch of Redhawks to town next week.
Up Next: Home vs. Miami (OH) (-13.5)
5: Kent State Golden Flashes (3-2 ATS, 2-4 SU) (LW: 7) With less than five minutes to play, Kent State held a 35-23 lead over Bowling Green. When the final gun sounded though, the Golden Flashes almost found a way to blow the cover as 1.5-point dogs. When push came to shove though, BGSU’s two-point conversion attempt came up short, which earned Kent State bettors their third cover in a row.
Up Next: Away @ Eastern Michigan (-6)
6: Toledo Rockets (3-3 ATS, 3-3 SU) (LW: 5) The Rockets were favored by 7.5 points against Western Michigan last week, but they sure didn't look like the team that should've been favored. They were crushed 58-26, and the final score really shouldn't have been that close. WMU held a 41-6 lead until Toledo scored right before the end of the first half. Up Next: Home vs. Northern Illinois (OTB)
And the rest…
7: Buffalo Bulls (3-3 ATS, 2-4 SU) (LW: 8)
8: Akron Zips (2-3 ATS, 1-4 SU) (LW: 6)
9: Bowling Green Falcons (2-4 ATS, 2-4 SU) (LW: 9)
10: Western Michigan Broncos (2-4 ATS, 3-3 SU) (LW: 11)
11: Miami Redhawks (2-4 ATS, 0-6 SU) (LW: 12)
12: Eastern Michigan Eagles (1-4 ATS, 0-5 SU) (LW: 10)
