With just a couple weeks remaining in the MLB betting season, check out how BetUS Sportsbook stacks up the top money teams around the American League!
1) Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim (89-60, +$2,226) (3-4, -$112 LW) (LW: 1) No one said that this week was going to be easy for the Angels, as they had to play a make-up game with the Yankees followed by three games at Fenway Park and three in Arlington. Still, the lead is comfortable enough for the Halos to coast to October.
On Deck: vs. Yankees, vs. Athletics
2) Boston Red Sox (89-59, +$1,692) (4-1, +$262 LW) (LW: 3) The Red Sox have effectively put everyone else away in the AL Wild Card race, and the only question that manager Terry Francona has is how he’s going to set up his rotation for his upcoming five-game playoff set with Anaheim in a few weeks.
On Deck: @ Royals, @ Yankees
3) Texas Rangers (81-67, +$1,454) (1-5, -$614 LW) (LW: 2) The Rangers have simply run out of gas, but there’s nothing to be ashamed of after a very successful season. Texas simply cruised past its win total for the season, and it has announced to the Angels that this division doesn’t belong to them anymore. Maybe there’s one more push for the Rangers this season, but barring a huge run down the stretch, it’s probably all over.
On Deck: @ Athletics, vs. Rays
4) Seattle Mariners (78-72, +$954) (4-3, +$161 LW) (LW: 5) Seattle is seemingly coasting to the finish line, but it should be proud to put up a +.500 season. RF Ichiro Suzuki has put up another “ho-hum” 210-hit season, but if he doesn’t have an amazing last couple weeks of the season, this will be the first time in his career that he doesn’t score 100 runs.
On Deck: @ Rays, @ Jays
5) New York Yankees (95-55, +$852) (3-3, -$63 LW) (LW: 4) The Yankees are going to want to make sure they don’t get swept at home by the Red Sox this week, or there may be some tense moments down the stretch in the final week of the regular season. There’s no way that they can afford to be the Wild Card, which would send them to Anaheim in the first round.
On Deck: @ Angels, vs. Red Sox
6) Oakland Athletics (71-78, +$681) (7-0, +$882 LW) (LW: 7) The A’s have played some of the best ball in the majors throughout the second half of the season, and they’re trying their best to claw back towards the .500 line before season’s end. Considering how disastrous this year started, Oakland bettors have ultimately turned out smelling like roses in ’09.
On Deck: vs. Rangers, @ Angels
7) Detroit Tigers (79-70, -$149) (3-4, -$124 LW) (LW: 6) Remember when we said that objects in Detroit’s rear view mirror were a lot closer than they appeared? The Tigers are only up three games on the Twins now, and with more road games on the horizon this week, what once looked like a comfortable division lead is now incredibly tenuous.
On Deck: @ Indians, @ White Sox
8) Minnesota Twins (76-73, -$531) (5-1, +$340 LW) (LW: 9) Here they come… Everyone that wrote off manager Rod Gardenhire’s club when they were way, way behind the Tigers for the AL Central lead is now jumping onto the Minnesota bandwagon. Should C Joe Mauer really be the league’s MVP? A .373 batting average says that maybe he should.
On Deck: @ White Sox, @ Royals
And the rest…
9) Chicago White Sox (73-77, -$787) (2-4, -$372 LW) (LW: 8)
10) Tampa Bay Rays (77-73, -$929) (5-2, +$261 LW) (LW: 10)
11) Baltimore Orioles (60-89, -$1,485) (2-5, -$269 LW) (LW: 11)
12) Kansas City Royals (61-88, -$1,692) (4-2, +$372 LW) (LW: 14)
13) Toronto Blue Jays (66-83, -$2,139) (1-5, -$400 LW) (LW: 12)
14) Cleveland Indians (61-88, -$2,643) (0-7, -$705 LW) (LW: 13)
