MLB Betting – Who’s Not MLB’s Coldest SU Teams
Whereas the picture is getting rosier for the hot squads in the bigs, there are plenty of teams in baseball that are singing the blues. Check out BetUS Sportsbook’s list of which teams are down in the dumps of late that you should stay away from at all costs if recent form is any indicator…
(Rank) (Team) (SU Record, $$$) (SU Record in L/5, $$$)
1: Chicago White Sox (63-63, -$140) (1-4, -$502 in L/5) The White Sox have been caught from behind by the Twins, and they’re certainly out of contention for the AL Wild Card spot. That means it’s a pennant or bust for Manager Ozzie Guillen’s boys, and with a 4.5-game deficit, the task at hand is a tall one. The Palehose will rue the week in which they went just 3-3 at home against the Royals and Orioles. Now, they’re punishment is a seven-game roadie at Fenway Park and Yankee Stadium. They’re already off to a 1-3 start on that trip. If they’re within seven of Detroit at the end of this weekend, it’ll be a big triumph. The only consolation for the White Sox is that six of their final nine games are against the Tigers, but the bad news is that it really may take a perfect 6-0 mark in those games to make the playoffs.
2: Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim (74-50, +$2,180) (1-4, -$404 in L/5) If you’ve got to go on a slump, now’s not a bad time of year for it when you’ve got a commanding lead in your division. Yes, Anaheim’s lead has been cut down to just four games over the Rangers in the AL West, but it’s not time to push the panic button quite yet. There are four games with Oakland coming up this weekend. Anything less than a split of those four may cause a bit of a ruckus. Pitching continues to be a problem for the Halos, as they’ve allowed at least five runs in five of their L/6 and have averaged allowing 7.0 runs per game in that stretch. Regardless of whether they win the division or not, the Angels are going to have to pitch significantly better than that to win the World Series.
3: Chicago Cubs (62-62, -$1,172) (1-4, -$382 in L/5) The sorry season on the North Side of Chicago is mercifully almost over. The Cubs really never kicked it into gear this season, and barring a tremendous final month of the season, they’ll finish nowhere near the Cardinals in the NL Central race. They responded from an awful 2-5 West Coast swing by getting murdered by the lowly Nationals 15-6 on Tuesday night. It’s sad that the only reason that anyone should be going to Wrigley Field in the month of September is to see whether Manager Lou Pinella has one of his patented blow ups on an unsuspecting umpire.
And the rest…
4: Kansas City Royals (48-77, -$2,432) (1-4, -$304 in L/5)
5: Arizona Diamondbacks (55-71, -$1,852) (1-4, -$265 in L/5)
