Dan Henderson
Age: 38
Record: 24-7
Before UFC 100
Dan Henderson doesn’t have a whole lot left to prove in the UFC, or MMA, but he just fights because he can still beat the crap out of a lot of people. Hendo is one tough man. On one hand, he’s just 2-2 in his last four fights but then again, he’s lost to Quinton Jackson and Anderson Silva – there’s no shame in that.
The good news for Hendo is he comes in on a two-fight winning streak and could potentially become a belt contender again with another win.
Fight With Michael Bisping At UFC 100
Never mind the head-to-head matchup here, or the technical stuff of how the two fighters matchup on the mat or standing, the real story that a lot of people want to know about is how will another European will fair against a quality UFC fighter.
A lot of pundits and hardcore UFC fans feel that Bisping is overrated and really isn’t on the same level as Henderson, which means he’ll likely be exposed on Saturday. If that’s the case, this fight may not last long as Hendo has the power to end it quickly.
If Bisping is the real deal, this should be a very closely contested fight as he is more technically sound than Henderson.
After UFC 100
It’s not a can’t-win situation for Dan Henderson at UFC 100 but put it this way, Bisping has more to gain from a win than Hendo.
A loss for Henderson means that the “over-the-hill” chatter will rev up once again while a win for him doesn’t exactly rejuvenate the 38-year-old’s career. After all, he’s the favorite and he’s expected to win.
Nonetheless, a win for Henderson could propel him to headline another UFC down the line, possibly for a title.
