Rarely are sports betting fanatics treated in the way they will be when they examine the UFC 100 odds. Certainly, a centennial is always a cause for celebration, and a monumental event. For mixed-martial arts, it is a way of saying “we made it,” to the general public, and the sporting world at large. For Dana White, it is also a way of showing the doubters who felt the company would go bankrupt less than three years ago, that UFC 100 betting will be one of the most profitable events ever seen in the world of pay-per-view events.
From top to bottom, the card is filled the bouts perfectly capable of carrying the title of main event at this pay-per-view spectacle. At the top of the card sits Brock Lesnar vs. Frank Mir, the long-awaited rematch between the ultra-hyped monster and the cagey artist inside the octagon. Lesnar vs. Mir odds favor the younger Lesnar over Mir, who is coming off an injury, and a layoff due to the birth of his child. Nearly everyone who is betting on UFC 100 has a take on this tilt—how much has Lesnar improved since his controversial loss to Mir two years ago? The oddsmakers suggest that Lesnar is a whole new fighter, and from a marketing standpoint, Dana White certainly hopes they are correct!
Equally intriguing is the semi-main event pitting Georges St. Pierre vs. Thales Leites, in what is perhaps a battle between two of the top five pound for pound fighters in the world. Leites is arguably the toughest striker St. Pierre has ever faced. Early reports have suggested that Leites has yet to make weight for the fight, which sounds like a problem, but may end up being an issue for St. Pierre. If Leites does manage to make weight, he will likely do so at the division maximum, which will make his striking even more dangerous and powerful. Can the master technician work his way around Leites’ big bombs?
Finally, the Ultimate Fighter coaches square off, as Dan Henderson takes on Michael Bisping. For Bisping, this is the fight he has always wanted—no more pummeling mid-carders such as Chris Leben, Bisping is in with the big boys now. Consequently, Henderson is favored on UFC 100 lines due to experience—specifically, world title experience. This will be a classic battle between a wrestler (Henderson) and a striker (Bisping) that will come down to who can execute his game plan fastest and most effectively. A win would vault Bisping into the title hunt, and superstardom, while a loss for “Hendo” could mean the end of an era.
When it comes to UFC 100 betting, simply pick your poison!
