Laying your money down on Tiger Woods each week tends to be the best bet, and it is not any different heading into the British Open.
It does not even matter that the British Open is at Turnberry this year, a links course Woods has never seen.
That shouldn’t be an issue, since he had never been to Royal Liverpool in 2006 until dismantling the course to win by two at 18-under 270.
Woods is the favorite, listed at +162.50 to win the title, and there is no reason to think he won't cash in.
On Sunday Woods wound up with a 3-under 67 and a one-shot victory at the AT&T National, his third win this season in nine starts.
Keep in mind Woods also won the Arnold Palmer Invitational in his final start before the Masters, and won the Memorial before the U.S. Open.
So it does not always work out.
