This weekend is a great weekend if you bet on College Basketball; actually, every weekend is a great weekend if you bet on college basketball. This weekend the top college teams are pushing for the top of their conferences and the top of the college basketball rankings so they can earn a number one seed in the March madness tournament and teams on the bubble, are trying to win out their schedule so they can earn a spot in the big dance.

Here are the games I’m most looking forward to seeing.

Saturday 12:00 PM

(2) Kentucky 26-1 (Road: 6-1) 12:00 pm EST

(19) Tennessee 20-7 (Home: 13-1)

Kentucky is pushing for the number one ranking and the number one seed in the tournament but it will be hard to overtake Kansas unless the Jayhawks stumble. If the Jayhawks stumble, a Kentucky win over number 19 ranked Tennessee would be enough to propel the Wildcats to the top of the rankings. Kentucky has only lost one game all year and Tennessee owned their home court with their only loss coming to number 20 Vanderbilt. I like Kentucky to come out strong and ride the sensation that is John Wall to another victory.

(21)Texas 22-6 (Road: 5-4) 2:00 pm EST

(22) Texas A&M 19-8 (Home: 13-1)


In a rematch of their January 16 meeting, Texas A&M hopes they can finish the job they started. While they didn’t win the game, they took the then number one Texas Longhorns to overtime losing 72-67. However, what happened to the Longhorns afterwards has become the story, Texas have dropped six of their past 11 games and dropped from the number one team in the country to number 21, just ahead of Texas A&M. I like Texas A&M to put another proverbial nail in the coffin of the Longhorns March Madness title dreams.

Cincinnati 16-11 (Road: 2-7) 2:00 pm EST

(8) West Virginia 21-6 (Home: 10-2)

The Cincinnati Bearcats are on the NCAA tournament bubble but a road win over conference rivals the 8 th ranked West Virginia Mountaineers would help solidify their chances of making the big dance. The Bearcats beat the Mountaineers in their only meeting of the season last year but this year the Bearcats have won only 2-7 true road games. However, as we begin March we can look for something special because March is a month of miracles.

(7) Villanova 23-4 (Road: 7-3) 9:00 pm EST

(4) Syracuse 26-2 (Home: 15-2)

And finally my personal favorite to win the Men’s tournament, the Syracuse Orangemen play host to conference rivals and all around pretty damn good team Villanova Wildcats. This game will go a long way in deciding the Big East title, Syracuse has a one game lead with three games left and this head-to-head meeting. The Syracuse Carrier dome will be a sea of orange as this game expects to break the NCAA record for highest attendance for an on campus game at over 33,646. This game will be the best game Saturday and possibly all weekend. I like Andy Rautins and surefire lottery pick Wesley Johnson to come through with another big game and Syracuse will win by 5 points. Book it.
