The boys in the Big XII are still smoking 2009-10, and college basketball gambling fanatics are having a field day with them. Check out how Sportsbooks rank the teams in this conference against the college basketball spreads...
1: Baylor Bears (9-2 ATS, 15-3 SU) (LW: 1) Baylor stood tall in Lawrence and hung with the Jayhawks. It wasn't quite enough for a victory, but the close call and a blowout win over UMass has to be considered acceptable. A win this week over either foe would be huge and would really punch the Bears' ticket to the dance.
On Deck: Home vs. Kansas State, Away @ Texas
2: Kansas State Wildcats (9-4-1 ATS, 16-3 SU) (LW: 2) The Wildcats knocked off the only undefeated team left in the conference on Monday, but turned around and was caught napping at home against Okie State over the weekend. A hellacious six-game stretch continues this week.
On Deck: Away @ Baylor, Home vs. Kansas
3: Oklahoma State Cowboys (8-4-1 ATS, 15-4 SU) (LW: 5) That sound you hear from the Midwest is everyone in Stillwater searching for their dancing shoes. The Okies were a bubble team coming into last week's action, but wins over Colorado and at Kansas State provided a monster boost to their resume.
On Deck: Home vs. Texas A&M, Away @ Missouri
4: Missouri Tigers (8-5 ATS, 15-4 SU) (LW: 4) The dominating performance against Nebraska was more than enough to cover the college basketball spread on Saturday, but the Tigers have to have their eyes set on three very tough games in the next 10 days.
On Deck: Away @ Kansas, Home vs. Oklahoma State
5: Texas Tech Red Raiders (8-5 ATS, 14-5 SU) (LW: 8) Texas Tech's ship was righted just a bit with home wins against the Sooners and Cyclones last week. But with trips to Austin and College Station on deck, one has to wonder just how long the guns will be up in Lubbock.
On Deck: Away @ Texas, Away @ Texas A&M
6: Texas A&M Aggies (8-7 ATS, 14-5 SU) (LW: 3) The Aggies didn't cover either of their games last week, but SU victories, albeit close SU victories, against both Colorado and Oklahoma were good enough for them. The trip to Stillwater should be a great bubble battle in the Big XII, even though both teams are looking good at this point for trips to the NCAA Tournament.
On Deck: Away @ Oklahoma State, Home vs. Texas Tech
7: Iowa State Cyclones (8-8 ATS, 12-7 SU) (LW: 6) Getting blown away twice this week wasn't good for Iowa State's chances of making a postseason tournament. If things get much worse, it may be the CBI, not even the NIT calling the Cyclones' name.
On Deck: Away @ Oklahoma, Home vs. Colorado
8: Kansas Jayhawks (8-7-1 ATS, 18-1 SU) (LW: 8) Kansas takes back over as the top team in the Big XII after Texas' two losses last week. The Jayhawks only split the ATS proceedings against ISU and Baylor, and will look to continue its home dominance this week before hitting the road for three of the next four.
On Deck: Home vs. Missouri, Away @ Kansas State
And the rest...
9: Texas Longhorns (7-8 ATS, 17-2 SU) (LW: 8)
10: Colorado Buffaloes (6-8-1 ATS, 10-9 SU) (LW: 11)
11: Oklahoma Sooners (7-9 ATS, 11-8 SU) (LW: 11)
12: Nebraska Cornhuskers (3-7-1 ATS, 12-7 SU) (LW: 12)
